Koksijde and surroundings
Koksijde/Coxyde is coastal municipality with many facilities, it’s located in West Flanders, the only province with access to the sea in Belgium, which constitutes the entire 66 kilometres of Belgian coastline.
Walking along the long beach of Koksijde you can reach the nature reserve „De Westhoek“ in De Panne, which has an observatory with a magnificent view over a large area of dunes and the North Sea. The beach continues to the French border, where you will find the northernmost point of the French territory and the town of Dunkerque/Dunkirk, from where you can see the coast of England.
Bruges/Brugge is the capital of West Flanders, its medieval centre is almost a living museum worth visiting, protected as a world heritage site.
